Linda Wallis Art

Linda Wallis S.W.A., S.B.A.

Artist in Oils.

I was born in London, but have lived in Surrey since 1967. I am married with three grown up children. I work exclusively in oils and have been showing my work with National and Local Art Societies since the early 70’s. I did not go to Art School, but have attended courses in this country and in Italy, and have developed my own style, depicting my love of the English countryside. In particular, my paintings concentrate on landscapes with hedgerows and wild flowers in their natural habitats.

My work has been used as cover prints for CD’s and tapes and featured in the Guildford & Surrey Hills Calendar. Over the years I have won many cups and awards for my paintings and have had work shown in the Guildhall, Royal Exchange, Mall and Westminster Galleries in London. A number of my paintings have been acquired by clients in Japan and America.
• 1994 I was invited to join the Society of Women Artists, and in 1998 my work was selected for reproduction as a limited edition print by their sister company “Editions Ltd”. My work has also been reproduced by the Medici Society in the form of greetings cards.
• 1998 a prize winner in the National Painting competition “Flowers in the Landscape”.
• 1999 I was elected to membership of the Society of Botanical Artists.
• 2003 A painting of the North Downs, near Shere, was featured in the first “Not the Turner Prize” Exhibition organised by The Mail On Sunday.
• “A Quiet Corner” was the first winner of the Abbey House Gardens Award at the Society of Botanical Artists and was featured in the magazine “Artists & Illustrators.
• As well as the two National Societies, I am also a member of, and exhibit with, the Epsom & Ewell Art Group, Croydon Art Society, Oxshott Arts & Crafts Society, and Florum.
